As the first recruiter, you'll define the hiring bar and help build the team culture from scratch.
What You'll Do
Own the entire recruiting process from sourcing to closing candidates across various roles
Partner directly with the founder to scale the team
Focus initially on hiring for a forward-deployed product manager role
Implement and utilize state-of-the-art AI tooling, like Claude, to enhance recruiting processes
Take on additional people operations responsibilities, such as contractor management, as the company grows
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of candidates across engineering, product, and go-to-market roles
What We're Looking For
At least 4 years of recruiting experience, ideally at high-growth startups
Proven track record of sourcing and closing strong candidates in competitive markets
Enthusiasm for AI—you're excited to use tools like Claude to 10x your recruiting output
High agency and comfort with ambiguity in an early-stage environment
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Interest in government technology and improving public services
Based in or willing to relocate to NYC for in-office work
About Concourse
Concourse is an early-stage, fast-growing startup backed by Bessemer Venture Partners. This is the CEO's second venture after a successful exit in 2021.
We sell technology to state and local governments, aiming to improve public services by replacing legacy, inefficient systems. The core problem we address is the disconnect between tax payments and perceived government inefficiency—often due to outdated technology.
We're building an AI-native company where every team member is empowered to use AI tools like Claude to automate their work. Our team is based in Flatiron, NYC.
